Has it always been this cold?
Like a still, dieing, breeze?
Rukia's fingers were numb. It was only autumn and yet it felt like harsh winter. She hated the autumn. Leaves were dead. Trees were dead. Her once thriving faith in luck was... dead. "What?" She muttered, suddenly feeling paranoid. "Who believes in pure fate anymore? Who?" A voice echoed out in all directions. There was no one else on this empty street. Rukia was surprised to discover that this voice was her own. For the first time, she had doubt.
"So you intend to tell me that you've forgotten?" This voice was not her own.
"Rukia, don't you remember the promise that we made?" Rukia turned around to see only her shadow. "You lie." She muttered under her breath and walked away.
"So you've truly forgotten about me?" A harsh breeze brushed her shoulder.
"I'm so stupid," A hesitant tear ran down Rukia's cheek. "...for showing emotion to scum like you." With that, she ran down the pavement, regardless of the danger of slipping. "Ichigo is dead! "
